Inside outside cats
Peony, Poppy, and Kappa are now inside/outside cats. In unfortunate timing, the neighbors dogs (which I think are boxers but dad disagrees) were in my yard again today. Odin's new medicine is giving him some issues, and since I can't come home once an hour to let him out, we have to revert to two years ago and leave the back door cracked open while I'm at work.

Sorry to hear about Odin. Daisy is on furosemide as well and she definitely did have fluid in her lungs during her emergency. The furosemide helped with that (with only two peeing in the house incidents).
Its really hard to say, Odin's been receiving treatment for longer, but Daisy's heart valves sound like they are worse (based on your description). Odin seems to be having more difficulty breathing, but I think the new meds will help greatly. The furosemide made a huge difference for Daisy.
I'm sure your vet will tell you (unless Odin's condition is different somehow), but another option for the arrhythmia treatment is Sotalol. Daisy couldn't handle her first med either (Mexelitine).
the prognosis is obviously bad for Daisy and Odin, but my vet was pretty hopeful that the Pimobendan (which I think Odin is on too)could keep her going for a while. He said the "goal" is 1 year. Of course the tachycardia thing is unpredictable.
But seeing as how it looked like Daisy wasn't gonna make it through last month, I can only be happy about that!
Hope the furosemide makes Odin feel better!
