I forgot to mention that when I called the person who sets up the specialist appointments, she said "oh, Odin, he's the one that's got all the problems, right?" and I said "I guess." I guess having afib, ventricles that don't beat right, and an enlarged heart could count as "all the problems". I mean, I don't think there's actually anything else about his heart that could fail now other than total failure?
Though we ARE still missing some of the classic "couple months to go" symptoms, like the coughing at night, and the horror of the eventual gurgling when the fluid is in his lungs. Oh, right, and the passing out. Though I think he's got a leg up (ha ha) on that one with his maybe-a-stroke. His back legs seem to be doing lots better now, though.

Daisy is doing pretty well so far. tricking me into thinking everything is ok. The only obvious sign that she is not ok is the extremely short walks we have to take.
She DOES have this cough, but I don't know if it is THE COUGH you describe. I told my vet about it and he increased the furosemide. Daisy cough is sort of like, 4 coughs and then a puking sound. But no puke/fluid.
She actually has been making that sound for over a year ... and two consecutive vets did not think it signaled any sort of emergency. Of course then Daisy had her episode...
Daisy is not having the GI problems Odin is (poor guy), but she has always had a stomach of steel. She has a long history of getting in the trash. Daisy continues to not love her food though and as said, I am now paying $2.50 a can ...
The brand I've been using is Merrick. Its crazy ....

Daisy is partial to "turducken" and "Thanksgiving Dinner" ... She did not like "cowboy cookout" at all...
