7 week old adventures

Well, the 7th week started with a bang. Friday night, in his final bathroom break, something happened (a spider bite is the leading theory) and Betel spent three hours at the emergency vet (12:30 am - 3:30 am) and then promptly went in to the regular vet at 9 am on Saturday morning. His little eyes got really swollen and he was crabby. He had to wear one of the silly collars.
Other than that, he is doing great. No accidents in the house lately. He likes to go out the cat door into the cat run (which he won't fit through for much longer) and he is letting himself out to use the bathroom. We can't tell if it's just coincidence, because we are still hovering around him to catch mistakes.
Betel has really neat green eyes. I don't know if they'll get darker, and if so, what color they'll be. They're really pretty right now.
Odin is doing a better job as a big brother. He lets Betel get closer now, and has done a few bouts of playing. Mostly he still stands and growls, but wags his tail. I think he's still just not sure what Betel is, but is getting used to him. We're trying to make sure Odin gets enough attention and affection to not feel too jealous.
We finally put Watanabe back outside, after almost 7 months in the house. He is spraying in the dog room, which is disgusting, and the whole room stinks. I'm going to clean it thoroughly today and hope that Watanabe a) stops, b) doesn't get caught and go back to cat jail, or c) doesn't get caught and killed by the crazy neighbor. I've seen other cats in the neighborhood outside, so hopefully Watanabe will have learned his lesson. We think he was caught in a opossum trap.
I've got to rush around and finish cleaning while Kevin's 3 hours of dog care ticks away.
